About Anacostia Playhouse

Anacostia Playhouse opened in 2013 as a community-oriented performing-arts space serving Ward 8, presenting local artists, original theatre, youth programs, partner productions, and neighborhood events. The venue has been closed since 2024 while a community-led group works toward reopening it.
