About National Opera House

Pittsburgh’s National Opera House is the historic Apple Street home where Mary Cardwell Dawson founded the National Negro Opera Company in 1941. The nonprofit is stabilizing and restoring the nationally significant site for future arts, education, community programming, archives, and interpretation.
